Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS)

The Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS) is a document issued to graduates by their awarding institution in addition to other documentation, such as the testamur and academic transcript.

The aim of the AHEGS is to describe a higher education qualification in a way that is easily understood, and which briefly explains the type and level of studies undertaken, together with information about awarding institution and the education system under which the qualification was awarded. Its intention is to provide graduates with an official document that can be used in Australia and internationally to provide employers with better understanding of Australian qualifications, and to enable graduates to be more mobile internationally.

Awards on the AHEGS

Various student achievements and awards approved by the Academic Board are listed on the AHEGS, in accordance with the Academic Transcripts, AHEGS and Testamurs Procedure.

A list of awards approved by the Academic Board for inclusion on the AHEGS(UoM only) is currently maintained by Student Administration.

Proposal for inclusion of student achievements and awards on the AHEGS

Faculties and graduate schools should submit a proposal for awards or student achievements to be included on the AHEGS to the Academic Secretary for consideration by the Academic Programs Committee or Research Higher Degrees Committee.
