Sporting Facilities and Clubs
Take advantage of the range of sporting facilities on campus.
Melbourne University Sport (MUS) is a members-only (student and staff) facility. All current staff and their immediate families (siblings, partner, spouse, and children) can become members. Staff also have the opportunity to salary package their membership.
The facilities at Melbourne University Sport are considered among the very best in Melbourne. Following a $5.3 million architecturally designed refurbishment, the heritage-listed Beaurepaire Centre now provides state-of-the-art fitness facilities for the University Community.
MUS offers various programs and services including an extensive Group fitness timetable, Short Courses, Relaxation and Sports Massage, Physiotherapy and Personal Training. Sporting facilities include a Strength and Fitness Gym, 25m heated indoor lap Pool, Squash Courts and two multi-purpose sports stadiums.
Health services offered to both staff and students.
The University Health Service provides services to students and staff of the University and other members of the community. The Health Service is a general practitioner service and the staff have particular skills and interests in the areas of health promotion, illness prevention, the early detection of disease and the management of health problems.
Staff of the University are entitled to discounts through the Health Service, as well as free health checks and flu vaccinations.

The University of Melbourne Eye-Care Service offers bulk-billed eye testing and discounted prescription lenses to University staff.

Free counselling service to students and staff.
University staff have access to the Counselling Service, which provides free counselling services to students and staff of the University. This service provides initial assessment of presenting issues and develops appropriate therapeutic interventions for clients. The Counselling Service also delivers a variety of community development and consultancy programs.

The University of Melbourne Veterinary Hospital is one of Australia’s leading veterinary hospital facilities, based in Werribee.
They provide veterinary care to the community via our general practice (primary and preventative care), referral practice (for veterinarians), emergency and critical care services and an equine centre.
As staff of the University you are entitled to a 10% discount on veterinary services. Faculty of Veterinary Science staff receive a substantial discount of 45%.
