Parkville is the University of Melbourne’s main campus and academic centre. Situated on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation and minutes from Melbourne’s CBD, the campus is home to most faculties, research institutes and student services, and more than 50,000 students. Combining historic architecture with state‑of‑the‑art facilities including Australia’s only university‑based quantum computing hub, the Parkville campus is supported by world‑leading hospitals, museums and parkland, offering exceptional convenience and connectivity for students, staff and visitors.

Discover Parkville through our students
Across modern buildings, heritage architecture and welcoming open spaces, students find far more than classrooms. There are places to build friendships, pursue their interests, connect with the University community and find support when they need it.
CONNECTION TO COUNTRY
Billibellary's Walk
The University acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which it stands, and pays respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. Billibellary’s Walk, named for the Wurundjeri Ngurungaeta at the time of Melbourne’s colonisation, offers a cultural interpretation of the Parkville landscape and an experience of the ongoing Wurundjeri connection to Country.

CAMPUS HIGHLIGHT
Southlawn Gardens
Beneath the clock tower of Old Arts lies South Lawn, one of Parkville's most iconic green spaces. Framed by the Baillieu Library, Old Quad, and John Medley, this heritage-listed landscape sits atop an innovative underground car park built in the early 1970s, its concrete shell structure concealed beneath rolling lawn.
Blending modernist design with a distinctly Australian garden character, South Lawn offers students a place to relax, socialise, and soak up the campus's history.
