We are seeking EOIs for the following membership categories:
- Two University of Melbourne staff members with disability
- Two University of Melbourne students with disability (one undergraduate, one graduate research)
- One senior academic staff member
- Two external members drawn from the wider community (who cannot be staff or students of - or otherwise engaged in a paid or unpaid capacity by – the University of Melbourne).
Appointments will be based on a demonstrated combination of:
- lived experience of disability and/or expertise in disability inclusion;
- governance, policy or strategic planning experience;
- higher education, student experience or workforce inclusion expertise;
- cultural capability and commitment to equity and inclusion; and
- capacity to contribute constructively to Committee deliberations.
For external community members, strong preference will be given to people with professional expertise in disability inclusion.
The Committee will meet four times per year. Applicants are encouraged to review the Terms of Reference for full details of the DGC’s role and operations.
If you would like to submit an EOI, please email a curriculum vitae and statement of interest of up to the 300 words to the selection panel. Please advise of any access adjustments you require to participate in the application process and/or on the Committee. The selection panel may decide to interview if there is high demand for particular membership categories.
You will not be asked to provide formal evidence of disability, but you are asked to confirm in your application whether you are applying as a lived experience (person with disability) member. This will help the selection panel ensure the Committee membership meets the majority people with disability requirement. The selection panel will seek to ensure the Committee membership reflects a diversity of disability experience, backgrounds, and perspectives.
Applications close 23 October 2026. For further information, please contact the Diversity and Inclusion team.
