As General Counsel and Chief Legal and Risk Officer at the University of Melbourne, Julie is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality, integrated, professional services, including legal services, risk and compliance advice, internal audit, privacy and FOI support and records management.
Julie and her team work in client-based teams, ensuring in-depth understanding of the current and emerging issues for their clients and enabling proactive and practical advice to support the University’s strategy and operations.
With over 30 years legal experience and 20 years in senior leadership roles within the government and higher education sectors, Julie is a trusted advisor to senior executives on all manner of complex matters.
Julie joined the University in 2021, after spending 8 years in the Victorian Government and 19 years in a top tier law firm. Julie is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
