Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Infrastructure)


The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Infrastructure) is responsible for strategy, policy and advice relating to research infrastructure across the University and works closely with Faculties and Chancellery for optimised whole-of-University outcomes. The PVC Research Infrastructure also contributes to supporting strategic research partnerships externally through consideration of policy regarding shared investment in research facilities and assumes responsibility for research ethics processes in the University.

Professor Ivan Marusic is Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Infrastructure) and a Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor at the University of Melbourne.

His research is in the field of fluid mechanics, with emphasis on turbulent flows. Over his career, he has held a number of prestigious fellowships, including an Australian Research Council (ARC) Laureate Fellowship (2012-2017), ARC Federation Fellowship (2006-2011), and a Packard Fellowship in Science and Engineering (2001-2006).

He is a recipient of the Stanley Corrsin Award from the American Physical Society and is a Fellow of the Royal Society, American Physical Society, Australasian Fluid Mechanics Society, Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering and the Australian Academy of Science.
