University of Melbourne spinout PredicTx Health has signed a strategic collaboration Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Alibaba East China Co., Ltd. and Cognis Technology Pty Ltd to explore joint opportunities in precision oncology, healthcare technology commercialisation and international market expansion across Australia and China.

The collaboration brings together PredicTx’s oncology treatment optimisation platform, OncoTx, with DAMO Academy’s advanced AI-driven cancer detection and medical imaging technologies, represented in Australia through Cognis Technology.

The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration across:

  • precision oncology and clinical decision support
  • AI-driven cancer diagnostics and treatment optimisation
  • clinical validation studies and pilot deployments
  • healthcare workflow integration
  • regulatory collaboration across Australia and China
  • commercial deployment opportunities and international healthcare partnerships

The collaboration also creates a pathway for Australian-developed healthcare technologies to expand into China through Alibaba’s healthcare ecosystem and regional partner networks, supporting future job creation, healthcare innovation and international commercialisation opportunities originating from Australia.

PredicTx Health is a University of Melbourne spinout developing advanced oncology technologies focused on chemotherapy treatment optimisation, toxicity reduction and personalised cancer care using multimodal clinical and imaging-derived analysis.

Professor Justin Yeung, Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of PredicTx Health and Professor of Surgery at the University of Melbourne said the collaboration represents an exciting opportunity to bridge world-class Australian clinical innovation with global healthcare technology capabilities.

“Precision oncology is becoming increasingly important as healthcare systems move towards more personalised and data-driven treatment approaches,” Professor Yeung said.

Abhijeet Waykar, Co-Founder and CEO of PredicTx Health believes there is enormous opportunity in combining advanced diagnostic technologies with treatment optimisation platforms to improve cancer care outcomes globally.

“Importantly, this collaboration supports the international expansion of Australian healthcare innovation while helping create highly skilled jobs, strengthen cross-border research collaboration and accelerate commercialisation pathways for Australian-developed healthcare technologies,” Mr Waykar said.

The signing ceremony took place at Melbourne Connect with representatives from the University of Melbourne, Genesis Pre-Seed Fund, Alibaba East China and Cognis Technology in attendance.
