Students@Work Internship program ranked 12th by Top Intern Programs 2024
The University of Melbourne’s Students@Work Internship program has risen four places to be ranked 12th for large intern programs by Top Intern Programs 2024.
The Top Intern Programs rankings are awarded by the Australian Association of Graduate Employers, the peak industry body representing organisations that recruit and develop Australian graduates.
Rankings are determined by feedback captured from over 2400 students who undertook an internship between March 2023 and February 2024 in one of more than 140 organisations.
The Students@Work Internship program was ranked 16th in 2023, rising to 12th in 2024 amongst diverse organisations from a range of fields, including Commonwealth Bank, Atlassian and Deloitte, and is the only university ranked in any category.
The program matches applicants with internship opportunities around the University of Melbourne for between three and nine months and for 14 to 21 hours a week, enriching students’ experience of university life and enhancing their future employability with real-world learning.
It also provides staff at the University of Melbourne with access to an emerging workforce and insights directly from students about the issues or initiatives that are most important to them.
More than 750 students have been placed into internships since the program launched in 2017.
The Students@Work Internship program is administered by Stefania Grath, Sophie Gardner and Caty Li as an initiative of the Student Participation team in Student and Scholarly Services.
