Dr Helena Wang awarded Royal Australian Chemical Institute's Catalyst Award
Dr Helena Wang has been awarded the Catalyst Award by the Royal Australian Chemical Institute for her contributions to the field of applied chemistry.
Dr Wang is a Senior Lecturer and ARC DECRA Fellow in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology’s Department of Chemical Engineering. Her research focuses on the development of nano-catalysts that help with environmental issues and energy use, including hydrogen production, carbon dioxide reduction and lithium-ion battery recycling.
“This award reflects the support of those who inspire me, and I’m grateful to be recognised among such talented peers,” Dr Wang said. “Being acknowledged at this time in my career is incredibly meaningful. It emphasises the value of perseverance, innovation and teamwork in driving scientific progress, particularly in vital areas such as renewable energy and environmental sustainability.”
The Catalyst Award is presented to early-career chemists who have made significant contributions to applied chemistry and sparked progress in the field.
