Emerging architects selected for 2025 Australian Institute of Architects’ Dulux Study Tour
Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning graduates, Jimmy Carter and Gumji Kang, have been selected for the 2025 Australian Institute of Architects’ Dulux Study Tour. Together with a cohort of emerging architects, they will embark on an immersive international experience exploring innovative architectural practice.
The study tour offers recipients the chance to visit leading architectural firms and experience significant contemporary and historical projects across Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Barcelona. The tour will enable Carter and Kang to engage in meaningful dialogue with global design leaders.
“To be recognised for this award is something that I am extremely proud of, and I look forward to taking this opportunity to learn as much as I can.” Jimmy said.
Gumji, who graduated in 2015, has participated in numerous guest lecturer roles at the Faculty and led her own design studios. “I'm eager to connect with fellow architects and designers during our journey. I believe some of the most valuable learning happens in those informal moments between site visits – the conversations over coffee, the shared observations, and the unexpected discoveries we'll make together,” she said.
Now in its 17th year, the Dulux Study Tour continues to play a vital role in shaping the next generation of Australian architects, providing them with an invaluable platform to expand their knowledge, foster connections, and bring fresh perspectives to local practice.
