University of Melbourne recognised for online education

The University of Melbourne has won an international award for its successful Graduate Online – Melbourne program.

The University has received the University Professional and Continuing Education Association award for Strategic Innovation in Online Education. The award will be presented next month at the Association’s international conference in Baltimore, USA.

Established in 2015, Graduate Online – Melbourne has supported the expansion of the University’s online education offerings through the development of high-quality, wholly online graduate-level programs.

Since then, Graduate Online – Melbourne has grown to give students across Australia and around the world the opportunity to further their studies online and has been welcomed by students.

University of Melbourne Pro Vice-Chancellor Gregor Kennedy said the University is proud of its achievements in online education provision.

“We have received overwhelmingly positive responses from our online students, which is of course encouraging for the University,” Professor Kennedy said.

"But it is also strong validation of Graduate Online – Melbourne’s approach to online learning development, which places an emphasis on high quality educational design.

“This award is recognition of the excellence we have achieved in online education and is only possible with the collaborative effort and contributions of the whole team.”
