Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) update

Novel coronavirus
The University of Melbourne is closely monitoring the circumstances around the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Following the Australian Government’s announcement to extend current travel restrictions by a further week from 15 February 2020, the University of Melbourne remains concerned for our students and the uncertainty and anxiety this creates for them and their families. The University is fully committed to providing effective measures of support during this difficult time.

We are continuing to work with the Government, higher education sector, government agencies and partners to provide a holistic and effective response to this ongoing situation.

The University is working hard to ensure our students can complete their studies on time. We are also striving to ensure a range of support measures are in place for students, including but not limited to flexible start dates, digital resources, catch-up arrangements, and deferrals for impacted students on a course by course basis. We are in close contact with impacted students on an individual basis, with the wellbeing of students being of utmost priority.
