University of Melbourne Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) Professor Michael Wesley has made a statement in response to the Russian attacks in Ukraine.

I am deeply saddened by Russia’s military attacks in Ukraine.

The attacks are impacting Ukrainians and Russians around the world, including citizens of both countries who work and study at the University of Melbourne. We have been contacting our colleagues and students to offer our support, and we will continue to do so in the coming days.

I would urge everyone to treat all members of the University community with kindness and respect, especially those people who have family or loved ones living in harm’s way in the region.

The University is offering support services to any students and staff affected by the conflict.
