Professor James A. Robinson (1960-)

Professor Robinson and co-awardees demonstrated that there is a strong relationship between the structure of institutions and national prosperity, and developed theoretical tools for how institutions can change for the betterment of society. Professor Robinson worked at the University of Melbourne from 1992 to 1995 and is now based at the University of Chicago.
