Disability Inclusion Action Plan
The University of Melbourne is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive environment for all students, staff and visitors. The Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) 2026-2029 is our next step forward. The DIAP draws on the evaluation results of our previous plan and outlines our renewed commitment to disability inclusion.
The DIAP acknowledges the important role and responsibility of leadership in shaping the University’s culture and progressing accessibility and inclusion. It also recognises that inclusion is everyone’s business; the whole University community has a role to play in creating an environment where people with disability feel safe, confident, and supported to participate on an equal basis.
The Plan highlights the importance of engaging with lived experience and centring the voices of people with disability as we implement the DIAP and progress University initiatives for disability inclusion. The DIAP was created in consultation with students and staff with lived experience of disability or caring responsibilities, and we extend our gratitude to them for their ongoing contribution to this work.
