Supervised Student Projects
Supervised Student Projects are substantial projects of at least one semester in length. They are conducted under sustained, structured oversight from academic or industry supervisor(s). Students demonstrate their learning by completing formative checks and responding to supervisor feedback at multiple stages throughout development of their final project artefact(s).
Examples currently used include:
- Minor thesis: Students develop original knowledge through production of a written response to a research question.
- Major creative project: Students produce a substantial novel work demonstrating their creative and critical capacity in an artistic discipline.
- Capstone project: Students demonstrate learning through completion of an original project involving summative synthesis of course learning.
- Professional or creative folio: Students create a collection of unique artefacts demonstrating disciplinary knowledge and understanding.
