Professor Robin Batterham awarded IMPC Lifetime Achievement Award

Kernot Professor Robin Batterham AO FREng FTSE FAA, from the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, has been awarded the International Mineral Processing Council's (IMPC) Lifetime Achievement Award.

This award recognises a lifetime of achievement and contribution to the growth of mineral processing art, research and industrial practice, as well as participation and service to the IMPC.

Since joining the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering in 2010, Professor Batterham has led pioneering research in areas such as emissions reduction, mining innovations and sustainable energy solutions. His work focuses on practical approaches to challenges in mining and resource management, particularly in areas such as dewatering, tailings management and green steel production.

“I am deeply honoured to receive the IMPC Lifetime Achievement Award,” Professor Batterham said. “This recognition reflects the incredible partnerships I have built with talented individuals in both industry and academia. It celebrates the collective efforts of everyone I have worked with throughout my career.”

The IMPC oversees the global mineral processing community, representing mineral processors and promoting their interests. Established in 1952, it organises the International Mineral Processing Congresses, bringing together experts to discuss advancements and publish proceedings that reflect the state of the field.
