University researchers receive 2022 Scopus Research Awards

Associate Professor Meghan Bohren and Professor Tuan Ngo have been awarded Scopus Researcher Awards.

Associate Professor Meghan Bohren and Professor Tuan Ngo have been awarded The Australia and New Zealand Scopus Researcher Awards of 2022 for their strong presence in international publication and citation data.

Associate Professor Meghan Bohren from the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences was named the Outstanding Researcher of Excellence in the Outstanding Early Career Research awards category.

Associate Professor Bohren's research is at the interface of clinical epidemiology and social sciences, employing novel ways to better understand complicated healthcare and society contexts to improve the quality of maternity care. She leads domestic and international research initiatives and works with multidisciplinary teams to better incorporate the voices of women, families, and healthcare workers into the design, measurement, and implementation of public health and clinical interventions.

Professor Tuan Ngo from the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology was named the Highly Commended Researcher of Excellence in the Research Impacting a Sustainable Future awards category.

Professor Ngo has made significant contributions to critical infrastructure vulnerability modelling research, particularly in assessing the effects of natural and technology hazards on buildings and infrastructure. He has participated in numerous projects to provide security evaluation, risk modelling, and protection solutions. These projects include the design and reinforcement of high-rise buildings, airports, bridges, tunnels, power plants, and industrial complexes.

In addition to showing a significant presence in international publications, citation statistics, the 2022 awardees have also embraced diversity, inclusiveness, and equality in their work.
