COVID-19 Update – 29/09/2020

The University of Melbourne remains deeply concerned about the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19). This concern extends not only to our local community, but to our global community of staff and students at many partner institutions across the world.

The University of Melbourne continues to work closely with the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the Australian Government, the Victorian Government and health experts. Our number one priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of our University community.

The University has ceased all visits by international delegations until further notice.

International visits

The University welcomes visitors from around the world and attaches great importance to the contribution these visits make to strengthening our international partnerships and engagement.

Visit requests from international universities, research organisations and government bodies are coordinated by Chancellery International.  The team works closely with Senior Executive as well as Academic Divisions to develop a visit program that meets the needs of the visitor, enables them to gain a holistic understanding of the University and provides opportunities to develop sustainable collaborative relationships.

Arranging an Official Visit

Intending official visitors are asked to complete the Visit Request Form, preferably at least four weeks prior to the intended visit date. Chancellery International will then liaise within the University to match visit requests with University personnel and advise the sender of the outcome of the request. Although all requests are considered carefully, the University is unable to service all requests.

Visiting Scholars

The University of Melbourne hosts many visiting scholars from around the world.   If you are a visiting Academic Scholar, we recommend you contact the relevant school directly. Visiting scholars normally need to make contact with an appropriate academic. Find an Expert may be of assistance to those who need to identify an expert in their field.

Faculty specific information is available for visiting scholars to the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning, Melbourne Graduate School of Education and Melbourne Law School.
