The University is committed to creating study spaces that meet the needs of our students. That’s why we conducted a furniture study on Level 3 of the Baillieu Library during Semester 1, 2025. This study featured five distinct study zones, each equipped with a variety of furniture options for library users to test and review. Feedback will directly inform:

Feedback was sought via submission of a short survey, and via in-depth review from 20 library users.

The Furniture Study was a research project running in the Baillieu Library in Semester 1 2025. The study aimed to gather feedback on different types of furniture to inform future furniture choices for the Baillieu library and other library and informal study spaces across the University.

The study concluded on Friday 30 May 2025, and is not longer open for participation.

All library users were welcome to provide feedback on comfort, functionality, and usability of different study furniture was sought by the study.

Responses will directly inform future study zones and furniture selections for Baillieu Library and other library and informal study spaces across the University, ensuring they meet student needs.

The study is temporary, and the furniture may be replaced based on findings. However, final furniture selections for the Baillieu library project will be influenced by the study results.
