Student elected member of Council

Archit Agrawal

Archit Agrawal was appointed to Council on 1 December 2022.

Archit graduated from his Bachelor of Science majoring in Environmental Science in late 2023 and will commence further study in 2024.

Archit has previously served as the President of UMSU International in 2019-2020. During his term, Archit was a strong advocate for international student mental health and wellbeing, particularly during the height of COVID lockdowns. At the start of 2020, he worked closely with the University Executive to negotiate outcomes for virtual delivery, supporting overseas students and international student fees.

Prior to this, Archit was a Student Peer Leader at the University of Melbourne from 2019-2021 where he worked on establishing the University’s Undergraduate Peer Mentoring Program. He also served as the Education and Welfare Officer of UMSU International, during which he undertook an extensive survey on the international student experience in 2018-2019.

Archit currently works as an advisor at the Victorian Parliament. He has extensive experience in the fields of community leadership, government relations, and stakeholder management.
