Dr Victor Sojo, senior lecturer in leadership at the University, has been appointed as a board director for Our Watch, a national leader in the primary prevention of violence against women and their children in Australia.

Dr Sojo’s multidisciplinary research, intersectional approach and focus on factors that facilitate and hinder gender equality in occupational and sport contexts are highly relevant to the organisation, which works to embed gender equality and prevent violence where Australians live, learn, work and socialise.

Our Watch chair Natasha Stott Despoja said the appointment of Dr Sojo was an excellent complement to the existing skills already sitting around the organisation’s boardroom table.

“His business experience and in-depth understanding of gender discrimination and the health and economic impacts of workplace sexual harassment will be a significant asset to Our Watch,” she said.

Following Dr Sojo’s appointment, the Our Watch Board is comprised of ten board directors led by chair, Natasha Stott Despoja, and deputy chair, Dr Phil Lambert.
