The University is the highest-ranked Australian university across three major global rankings. Currently, it is ranked number 13 in the world according to the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, 37 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and 35 in the Academic Ranking of World Universities. The University's efforts to tackle the world's greatest environmental and social issues saw it jump 42 places to be ranked ninth best in the world in the 2023 QS Sustainability Rankings.
