Professor Frank Dunshea made a Fellow of the International Union of Nutritional Sciences

Professor Frank Dunshea from the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences has been announced as a Fellow of the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS) at their General Assembly held at the International Congress of Nutrition in Tokyo, Japan.

Fellows of IUNS are elected every four years and are nutrition scientists who, in the opinion of the IUNS Council, have rendered outstanding service to the cause of nutrition.

Professor Dunshea, who has previously been awarded the title of Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor by the University of Melbourne, has a research career spanning 35 years in farm animal and biomedical research. His area of expertise is in growth physiology and nutrition, and understanding the interactions between the animal and the animal’s environment.

Professor Dunshea has focused much of his recent research on biomedicine and functional foods and his research has an impressive breadth and quality, publishing more than 1000 journal, conference, book and technical articles.

The IUNS’ mission and objectives are to promote advancement in nutrition science, research and development through international cooperation at the global level. IUNS aims to encourage communication and collaboration among nutrition scientists, as well as to disseminate information in nutritional sciences through modern communication technology.
