Kathy Ryan awarded the Universitas 21 Scholarship for professional staff

Kathy Ryan has received the U21 Scholarship for professional staff.

Kathy Ryan has been awarded this year's Universitas 21 (U21) Scholarship for professional staff.

Ms Ryan is the Coordinator, Careers and Employability in Student and Scholarly Services. Through her project, Ms Ryan will explore how peer institutions use student career registration data to design next-generation services that are tailored, personalised and have a positive impact on student career development, and potential graduate outcomes.

The scholarship will also investigate how the institutions’ career services are implementing evidence-based, best practice evaluation to accurately measure outcomes, inform service design and enable resource decisions. It will enable Ms Ryan to visit three U21 partners - the University of Birmingham, the University of Edinburgh and University College Dublin - as well as other non-U21 institutions in the UK that are well advanced in careers registration methodology.

The U21 Scholarship for professional staff recognises outstanding performance, provides development opportunities for the recipient and benefits the University through the advancement of its administrative and management practices. The professional scholarship's key objective is to enable professional staff to develop their expertise, pass on their learnings, and strengthen links with other U21 institutions.
