University of Melbourne Associate Director awarded Tracy McCabe Future Leader Fellowship

University of Melbourne Associate Director, International Research (Acting), Maria Roitman, has been awarded a Tracy McCabe Future Leader Fellowship.

The Tracy McCabe Future Leader Fellowships provides an up-and-coming leader in Australian international higher education with a $7,000 fellowship to be used toward a leadership program or other professional development activity that will support their career progression as an international education leader.

“I’m honoured to be awarded the fellowship, and I look forward to completing the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Company Directors Course in 2024,” Maria said.

The evaluation panel noted Maria’s work on a comprehensive framework for developing International Research Training Groups (IRTGs) and her contribution to shaping the University’s international research strategy and in developing key partnerships.

The annual fellowships are supported by the Australia Universities International Directors’ Forum (AUIDF). The AUIDF provides a platform for enhanced professionalism, cooperation and cohesion amongst university professionals leading their university’s international engagement activities.

Applicants must be currently working in an Australian university in a role directly or indirectly connected with international education, and have shown demonstrated potential to become a future leader in the sector.
