Diversify your workforce

International graduates contribute valuable cross-cultural perspective and diversity to the workforce.

International graduates are an untapped pool of highly skilled and motivated job candidates. As graduates, they are high achievers, quick to learn and able to offer multicultural insights and multilingual skills to the Australian labour market. They contribute over $31 billion into the Australian economy annually – yet international graduates only account for around 0.7 per cent of Australia's labour force.

The University of Melbourne will join a Victorian Government-led initiative to ensure the high-calibre and diverse talent pool of international students and graduates continue to make a growing contribution to Victoria’s skills base and business needs.

Through signing a new Commitment to Action, the University will work alongside employers and industry bodies to address employment barriers and promote post-study pathways for global talent in the state.
