Katerina Kapobassis was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the University of Melbourne in February 2019. Upon joining the University in 2010, Katerina lead the Budgeting and Planning team before assuming the role of Executive Director Finance in 2014 and then Deputy Chief Financial Officer in 2018.
Before joining the University, Katerina was at Myer Holdings Limited, an upmarket Australian department store chain, where she more recently held the position of Investment Evaluation Manager.
Katerina began her career in retail, joining the Coles Myer Group, a public company operating numerous retail chains and Australia's second-largest retailer, where she developed her skills as a finance professional.
Katerina has a Bachelor of Business degree from RMIT and is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA Australia).
She is a Board Member of the Melbourne Theatre Company (2022) and the Melbourne Teaching Health Clinics (MTHC). Previous board memberships include International House (2018–2020), the Ian Potter Museum of Art (2012–2020), and the Graduate Union, University of Melbourne (2010–2012).
