Executive Director, Strategy Planning and Performance


Strategy Planning and Performance (SPP) oversees the development of the University strategic plans and enabling plans, and their integration and implementation through the academic and business planning framework.

SPP is also responsible for monitoring and reporting on performance, including institutional rankings and international benchmarking, and undertaking institutional research.

Louise Davidson has 30 years global experience working in strategic planning and performance. She has been employed as Executive Director, Strategy, Planning and Performance at the University of Melbourne since 2017, responsible for overseeing the formulation and execution of the University’s institutional strategy (Advancing Melbourne), strategic risk, business and student load planning and institutional performance including rankings.

Prior to moving to Australia, she spent 20 years in the USA, including as Director of Strategic Planning at UC Berkeley in California and 15 years in Corporate and Africa strategy at the World Bank in Washington DC. Louise began her career as a Senior Associate with Coopers & Lybrand Management Consultants in London, working on cost restructuring and strategic planning improvement assignments based in the UK and elsewhere in Europe. She holds a MA in International Relations and Economics from Johns Hopkins University.
