Em is a queer and trans PhD student in the Faculty of Science, where his research is in the field of bioinorganic chemistry. Having been a member of other diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, including for the School of Chemistry and the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, Em is keen to contribute to supporting LGBTQIA+ students and staff at the university through the work of this committee. Outside of study, Em spends most of his time playing water polo, and is always on the lookout for a new swimming spot.
