The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Collaboration) at Melbourne has oversight of the internal initiatives that foster interdisciplinary research and the important research relationships with external partners.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Systems Innovation) works with senior members of the University of Melbourne community to promote a coherent University-wide approach to guide the business systems that support the research enterprise.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Graduate and International Research) oversees the University of Melbourne's graduate research strategy and programs. He guides the University's international research partnerships and develops opportunities for international collaborations.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Capability) is responsible for supporting and encouraging research capability development across the University of Melbourne, working closely with Faculties, Chancellery and University Services. The position provides leadership and academic oversight to support and enhance research performance and is responsible for research integrity.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Infrastructure) is responsible for strategy, policy and advice relating to research infrastructure across the University and works closely with Faculties and Chancellery for optimised whole-of-University outcomes. The PVC Research Infrastructure also contributes to supporting strategic research partnerships externally through consideration of policy regarding shared investment in research facilities and assumes responsibility for research ethics processes in the University.

The Executive Director, Research Strategy guides development of the whole-of-University research strategy and policy, working closely with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), and leading the development and implementation of the University's research strategy.
