Odette is an Associate Professor, and Principal Research Fellow at the Melbourne Poche Centre for Indigenous Health. She’s worked for over 20 years at the intersections of research and project management, contributing to evidenced based approaches to systemic change focused on the rights of Indigenous and LGBTQIA+ people across law, health and higher education. Her PhD, titled 'Queer Jurisprudence: LGBTQIA+ activism and legal reform in Australia' examined the queer sensibilities shaping LGBTQIA+ activism and law reform projects. Odette believes PiAN has an important role to play in building community networks, celebrating our diversity and contributing to community informed policies and practices that improve the experiences of LGBTQIA+ people at the university.
