The aims of the Academic Capacity and Careers portfolio are to develop an academic career framework that enables the University’s academic staff to meet the current and future demands of the Growing Esteem Strategy 2015 - 2020 and ensure we are the preferred destination for high-calibre academics in Australia.
We seek to nurture excellence in teaching and learning, research, engagement and academic leadership. We provide support for a broad range of academic roles and pathways and seek to attract, retain and develop a diversity of academic talent.
Development opportunities
The University of Melbourne provides a range of professional development opportunities for its academic staff, whether they be working on a continuing, fixed-term or sessional basis. These opportunities range from teachers enhancing their knowledge of different forms of assessment and student feedback, to the design, development and implementation of technology for teaching, learning and assessment.
