Learning spaces

The University of Melbourne is committed to ensuring students have access to the very best learning spaces, both physical and virtual, and to high-quality social space and accommodation options now and into the future.

We are constantly reviewing and investing in our learning spaces and all our other infrastructure for students.

A recent example is the $12m upgrade of UniWireless, which now provides students and staff with access to high quality Wi-Fi in formal, informal and outdoor spaces throughout our campuses and affiliated bodies.

Welcome to the future

The Melbourne School of Design building, a recent addition to the Parkville campus, has won over a dozen awards and gained wide media coverage for its revolutionary design and 6-star Green Star Design rating. With rooms that can be reconfigured for different class sizes and purposes using moveable walls and a great variety of informal spaces for students to sit, study and converse, it's an exemplar of the future of the University’s flexible learning spaces.

Our new student precinct, scheduled for 2021, will further transform the student experience at Parkville by delivering a world-class student hub for the whole campus community.
